Work Packages

Lead Beneficiary: REN-AMP

Being the 1st stage in the simplified V-model approach, WP1 is dedicated to requirements and specifications. Starting from users’ needs for the different demonstrators in the Research & Innovation streams (RISs), expressed  either by end-users that are part of the consortium or by their clients and partners, the consortium will derive requirements and specifications. Particular attention will be paid to requirements and specifications related to the interfaces (e.g., compliance with existing standard to ensure easy integration and further adoption by the market without costly redesign) and to the data requirements, especially for all demonstrators that require AI/ML developments. WP1 will be organized in 6 tasks, following the 5 technical RISs, as well as the requirements for the 6th (non-technical) RIS.

Lead Beneficiary: CEA

Following the different RISs, and considering the requirements and specifications defined in WP1, WP2 will design the different demonstrators, hardware, firmware, middleware and software, where appropriate. Particular attention will be paid to the design of the interfaces and data structure to ensure seamless integration after development in WP3. WP2 will be organized in 5 tasks, with one task per RIS

Lead Beneficiary: VIF

The objectives of the WP3 include the following aspects:

  • Develop a scalable systems architecture tailored to project specifications, emphasizing interoperability and adaptability.
  • Integrate components and subsystems utilizing simulative development techniques to expedite testing and validation processes.
  • Optimize system performance and efficiency through iterative refinement of algorithms, protocols, and interfaces, guided by simulation-based analyses.
  • Document the entire system development and integration process, including simulative development methodologies, to facilitate knowledge transfer and support future maintenance and expansion efforts.
Lead Beneficiary: AVL

RISs aim to reach MOSAIC vision, by developing novel solutions such as advanced sensor fusion techniques, adaptable software architectures and platforms, modular decision-making frameworks, and explainable AI models. Outcomes of RISs will be showcased on multiple demonstrators. The demonstrator will vary between virtual implementation in simulation environments, lab demonstrators and physical demonstrators.
This work package is focusing on verifying and validating the newly developed solutions. Assessment of the performance of the systems and subsystems integrated within WP3 will be carried out. Their functionality and characteristics will be examined in alignment with the results obtained from analyzing hardware, software, and digital twins.

Lead Beneficiary: DISCO

The objectives of this work package include the following aspects:

  • Definition and execution of dissemination and communication activities in order to make the research activities and the progress of technological developments and innovative solutions visible to external communities with potential interest in the project outcomes;
  • Definition and execution of exploitation strategies in order to ensure the applicability and efficiency of the developed technologies, prototypes, and new components;
  • Facilitating the uptake of the MOSAIC technologies through standardization efforts and investigation of stakeholders’ acceptance
Lead Beneficiary: IFAG

The objectives of this work package include the following aspects:

  • Overall project management. Legal requirements and contracts, timely and efficient implementation of the work plan and continuous monitoring of all project activities, including tracking of milestones, deliverables and the demonstrators issued from the supply chains
  • Trusted communication with the Programme Officer, with the consortium, with external experts and the public audience, including progress reporting (i.e. reviews, periodic and final reports)
  • Administrative management of the project, including distribution of the financial contribution to the consortium (through the Coordinator) according to the Grant Agreement; assistance in obtaining certificates on the financial statements from each of the participants; keep records and financial accounts as well as inform the EC of its distribution
  • Monitor that all relevant rules and regulations (i.e. contractual, legal, ethical, security) related to the project are properly considered and any relevant conventions are respected
  • Ensure the responsible and ethical development of next-generation ECS throughout the project lifecycle, considering potential societal, environmental, and economic impacts.
