About the project

The MOSAIC project aims to achieve European technological independence and digital autonomy in Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) for automated systems, aligning with the EU Chips Act. It will develop next-generation, energy-efficient, and robust cognitive ECS, focusing on integrating diverse perception hardware and fostering interoperability to gain a competitive advantage for European manufacturers.
Vision

Project Vision

Pioneering European Automation

Leading the way in seamlessly integrated automated systems across diverse industries.

Strengthening EU Supply Chains

Building automation on robust, independent European Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) supply.

Boosting Competitiveness

Fostering a highly competitive EU value chain for innovative ECS across all industrial domains.

Driving Global Market Penetration

Intelligent integration of European ECS leading to efficient manufacturing, reduced dependencies, and successful market entry.

Project objectives

  • Enable Transition: We will move the industry from monolithic systems to a modular framework, providing defined building blocks and interfaces that reduce costs and eliminate vendor lock-in.
  • Build on Lower Levels: We will leverage existing hardware abstraction layers, collaborating with other initiatives to create a unified framework that can become an industry standard.
